Another year, another call from the legislature to hike up the taxes you pay at the gas pump. Just when we started getting some relief, lawmakers are talking about increasing the gas tax 10 cents a gallon to fund roads. Here’s the problem – even that tax hike likely won’t be enough to cover the shortfall. Tell your legislator it’s time to find a permanent solution that doesn’t involve endless tax hikes! Instead, we can prioritize roads and cover the shortfall out of Iowa’s general fund, bringing predictability and fiscal commonsense to our infrastructure costs.
