Ohio should fund students, not systems.
As parents and guardians, we are deeply concerned about the education of our children. We believe that all families should have the right to choose the best educational options for their children, regardless of their zip code or income level. Unfortunately, we understand that you have taken a stance opposing school choice.
We are writing to urge you to reconsider your position and support policies that expand educational opportunities for all children. School choice programs, such as universal vouchers and Education Savings Account programs like the Backpack Bill, have been shown to increase academic achievement and graduation rates. By allowing families to choose the school that best meets their children's needs, school choice programs promote competition, innovation, and accountability in the education system.
We believe that you have a responsibility to represent the needs and wishes of your constituents, many of whom are parents who desire greater educational freedom and choice. We urge you to listen to our voices and support school choice initiatives that empower families and improve the educational outcomes of Ohio's children.
Thank you for your consideration.
