Granite Staters like me are dealing with high electric rates that are putting burdens on our already strained budgets, and we are counting on you, Representative, to enact sound policies to bring electric rates down.

Earlier this year, you voted to pass House Bill 142, a bill that increases subsidies to an unprofitable electric supplier and passes that cost onto ratepayers.

Thankfully, Governor Chris Sununu had our backs and vetoed this cost-increasing legislation.

On October 26, please vote to sustain the Governor’s veto and stop these boondoggle subsidies. Protect Granite Staters and work to lower electric rates through sound policies that are sustainable.

House Bill 142, passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate, will subsidize tens of millions of dollars for electric generators, passing those costs on to ratepayers.

Thankfully, Governor Chris Sununu vetoed this bill and has protected ratepayers from boondoggle subsidies, for now.

The legislature needs to look for solutions borne from sound economic policies that keep the best interest of electric ratepayers at the forefront and must work to lower electric rates for residents and businesses in order to keep our economy growing and thriving.
