We need to empower parents to make the decisions that best fit the needs of their child. We have seen Education Savings Accounts passed all across the nation, including West Virginia, Arizona, Iowa, and Utah - and now, it's time we passed it in Alabama.
That's why AFP-Alabama is advocating for Governor Kay Ivey's CHOOSE Act to be passed this legislative session. The Creating Hope & Opportunity for Our Students' Education (CHOOSE) Act sponsors and education budget chairmen, Senator Arthur Orr and Representative Danny Garrett filed SB61 and HB129. The CHOOSE Act program would provide up to $7,000 per child enrolled at an accredited, participating private or public school through an education savings account funded by a new refundable tax credit.
We must take action and expand educational opportunities, so Alabama families have greater choice and control. Whether suburban, urban, or rural, all students and parents deserve the freedom to choose the school that's right for them.
AFP is committed to leading the way in developing transformational policy reforms that encourage children to think deeply, act boldly, and dream big. By passing ESAs in Alabama today, we will create a brighter Alabama tomorrow.
We urge you to please support school choice in Alabama and pass The CHOOSE Act today.
