AFP-NV Hold your lawmaker accountable for not supporting the Nevadan Workforce!

Over one-third of Americans earn income as independent contractors, freelancers, or gig workers—a number that continues to grow. Yet, our current system ties essential benefits like health care and retirement savings to traditional W-2 employment, leaving millions of self-employed workers without access to the basic security they need.
SB336 if passed, would have given many Nevadans access to portable benefits accounts. Benefits that travel with the worker, regardless of job or platform. Just like Utah’s landmark 2023 law, SB336 stipulates that the provision of benefits cannot be used to reclassify independent contractors as employees under state law.
However the Nevada legislature failed to act and pass SB336. We need to let them know that constituents are watching. Sign the letter know and hold your lawmaker accountable.
