Over one-third of Americans earn income as independent contractors, freelancers, or gig workers—a number that continues to grow. Yet, our current system ties essential benefits like health care and retirement savings to traditional W-2 employment, leaving millions of self-employed workers without access to the basic security they need.
SB336 addressed this outdated barrier by allowing self-employed workers to open voluntary portable benefits accounts, but Nevada lawmakers failed to act.
Though the bill did not pass you can still show appreciation for those that voted yes.
