Don't Limit Healthcare
Repeal Certificate of Need!
Certificate of Need (CON) laws require healthcare providers to demonstrate a "need" for new services or expansions, often to the approval of existing competitors, this stifles innovation and limits the entry of new healthcare providers. This regulatory burden not only increases administrative costs but also delays or prevents the introduction of new facilities or technologies that would benefit vulnerable individuals. By removing CON laws, Maine could foster a more competitive environment, driving down costs through increased supply and encouraging the development of diverse healthcare services tailored to community needs.
Send your legislators an email to encourage them to repeal these outdated laws!
