Illinois doesn't need a single-payer health care system!
Urge Illinois lawmakers to oppose House Bill 62
The Illinois State Legislature is working to establish a single-payer health care program that would eliminate private insurance and drastically increase health care costs for individuals and families while placing a heavy burden on hospitals.
House Bill 62, the Health Care for All Illinois Act, would eliminate choices, drive up premium costs, and drive down life-saving innovation. The bill has already passed the Health Care Availability & Accessibility Committee and could be voted on at any time.
The bill would:
• Make it significantly more difficult for Illinois residents to access the health care they need.
• Reduce the reimbursement and compensation hospitals receive for providing care.
• Cause many rural hospitals to lose money, reduce services or even close, which puts our more isolated neighbors at higher risk of not receiving medical attention quickly.
