Cutting taxes for hard-working Oklahomans is always the right thing to do.
As my legislator, I’m asking you to support any effort to reduce the state’s personal income tax - not only to fuel greater economic growth but also to raise the take-home pay of so many hardworking Oklahomans – especially during this time of historic inflation.
A recent poll showed that Oklahomans overwhelmingly support cutting the state income tax and gradually eliminating it. More than 80% of republican voters and a strong majority (57%) of independent voters. In fact, a near plurality of democrats even support it.
For more than two years and across three special legislative sessions, the movement towards reducing the state’s personal income tax has been stymied with no benefit to hard working Oklahomans. Multiple bills regarding personal income tax cuts from both chambers have been introduced ahead of the upcoming legislative session. I believe the time is now to put your vote on the board and stand with taxpayers.
Our state is in a strong fiscal position both economically and in regard to state savings to pass tax cuts and provide relief from the effects of the failed federal economic policies.
