Protect Georgia Ratepayers
Support Senate Bill 34
Senate Bill 34 aims to exclude the costs incurred by commercial data centers from Georgia Power rate adjustments, shifting the responsibility for these costs— including transmission line charges— to the data centers themselves. The bill defines commercial data centers as those with a peak demand of 100 megawatts or more, leaving smaller data centers (under 100 megawatts) still covered by other Georgia Power customers. While AFP Georgia advocates for all data centers to bear the costs of their power usage, we believe Senate Bill 34 is a positive step toward easing the financial burden on Georgia Power ratepayers.
