I’m writing today asking for your support of The REINS Act. The REINS Act means that members of the general assembly will have the final say in major rule changes here in North Carolina.
For too long unelected bureaucrats have been allowed to enact policy while circumnavigating the legislative process. This has allowed people’s personal political biases to disenfranchise us the voters. This has led to overburden some regulations while government agencies profit.
By passing the REINS Act we can help keep North Carolina competitive and incentivize people to not only stay in the state but move here as well. It will also help spur economic growth by making sure that wasteful spending and unnecessary regulations don’t stunt development and don’t needlessly waste taxpayer money.
We believe that major rules need to be decided by you the democratically elected representative, not unelected bureaucrats. The REINS Act will also ensure that the taxpayer’s money isn’t going to be needlessly wasted. If a certain policy or law has a great amount of economic, political or social influence then it deserves to go through the same level of scrutiny that all other major laws do.
Please support this bill to ensure the voters that they have the power not nameless and biased government officials.
