Freedom and opportunity are the foundation of our state’s prosperity.
As a proud Georgian, I want to ensure that our state continues to have a thriving economy—not just today, but for generations to come. We’ve seen businesses flock to Georgia, escaping the high taxes and burdensome regulations of other states. However, this isn’t guaranteed to last unless we take proactive steps.
One keyway to safeguard our economic future is by ensuring that our state government stays within its proper role and doesn’t over-regulate Georgia’s businesses.
That’s why I urge you to support Senate Bill 28, the Red Tape Rollback Act of 2025.
Senate Bill 28 would enhance transparency and accountability for executive branch agencies, often referred to as the ‘administrative state’ or simply ‘the bureaucracy.’
This legislation would give Georgians a stronger voice by requiring that any new rules or regulations proposed by state agencies, particularly those that impose significant costs or burdens on our businesses, be subject to approval by the legislature. If the costs are deemed too high, the regulation would be automatically blocked until the legislature passes a law allowing it to take effect.
Georgia’s prosperity depends on our ability to balance governance with the freedom that drives innovation and economic growth. Let’s act now to REIN in the bureaucracy and protect the vibrant economy we’ve built together.

Senate Bill 28 increases transparency and accountability for executive branch agencies, also known as the ‘administrative state’ or simply ‘the bureaucracy’.

The REINS aspect to SB 28 gives the people, through their elected officials, a louder voice when agencies propose new rules or regulations. If the cost and burden of the new regulation is too high for Georgia businesses and producers, it would be blocked from implementation automatically until the legislature affirmatively passes legislation allowing it to go into effect.
