New Mexicans are already facing rising costs, and we simply cannot afford legislation that makes life even more expensive. HB 35, HB 257, HB 259, and HB 548 threaten to cripple our energy sector, driving up costs for families and businesses while pushing jobs and investment out of our state.
Policies that raise taxes, increase red tape, and discourage private-sector innovation don’t just impact businesses—they hurt hardworking New Mexicans who are already struggling to make ends meet. These bills could mean:
❌ Higher energy bills for families and small businesses
❌ Fewer jobs and lower wages for New Mexicans
❌ A weaker economy with fewer opportunities for growth
Instead of costly regulations that make it harder to live and work in New Mexico, we need policies that protect affordable energy, support economic growth, and keep good-paying jobs in our state.
I strongly urge you to vote NO on HB 35, HB 257, HB 259, and HB 548. New Mexicans simply cannot afford the consequences of these harmful policies.

Politicians in Santa Fe are pushing extreme policies that threaten jobs, drive up energy costs, and put our state’s economic future in jeopardy. New Mexico has a historic opportunity to expand prosperity and create opportunity, but instead, some lawmakers are choosing job-killing regulations and tax hikes that will drive businesses and investment out of our state.

New Mexico’s oil and gas industry isn’t just about energy production—it’s a key driver of jobs, economic growth, and opportunity:

✅ $13 billion annually in economic impact, fueling investment and local businesses

✅ Thousands of jobs supported statewide, providing good wages for hardworking families

✅ Nearly half of the state’s budget, funding key infrastructure and economic stability

While energy producers continue to innovate—reducing emissions, increasing efficiency, and leading in environmental stewardship—politicians want to impose burdensome regulations and massive tax hikes that will kill jobs, increase energy costs, and drive investment to other states.

Bad Policies = Higher Costs and Fewer Jobs

Proposals like HB548, which would impose an 85% tax increase on oil production, don’t just hurt businesses—they hurt New Mexico families. If passed, this tax hike will:

❌ Destroy jobs and push energy production to states with more competitive policies

❌ Raise costs for families, businesses, and entrepreneurs

❌ Make New Mexico more dependent on oil and gas revenue while discouraging investment

Instead of letting government pick winners and losers, we should be championing bottom-up solutions that drive innovation, expand opportunity, and keep energy affordable.
