Another Round of Utility Rate Increases in Wisconsin: Pending Approval
Join Our List to Stay Informed!
Wisconsin residents, who once enjoyed some of the lowest
utility rates in the country, now face some of the highest rates in the
Midwest. Since 2019, utility rates have increased by a staggering $1.5 billion.
Unfortunately, this troubling trend is expected to continue,
as the Wisconsin Public Service Commission (PSC) considers 2025-26 rate
increase proposals from Wisconsin utility companies.
Proposals:
WPS Energy: $220 million over the next two years (2025-26)
for its electric and natural gas utilities.
We Energies: $605 million over the next two years (2025-26)
for its electric and natural gas utilities.
These continued rate hikes are placing an unbearable burden
on households and threatening the survival of businesses in Wisconsin.
