Fund Students Not Systems
Ohio should fund students, not systems.
Education should create an environment that empowers students to continually fulfill their unique potential throughout their lives. Because this looks different for each person and each person learns differently, education should be individualized. Students and families should be trusted to make decisions about their education. They should have agency over what, where, and how they learn.
Every student should have equal access to education on equal terms, regardless of their zip code or income level. We live in a diverse and plural society – and we support an environment that offers diverse and plural educational opportunities for Ohio’s children.
We are advocating for families to have the ability to select the educational environment that fits their student needs. We don’t believe one pathway is good or better than other options. Public education funding systems need to be modernized so that all families can be empowered with the funding to pursue the best education for their child.
Ohio should fund students, not systems.
