Remove Barriers to Innovation
Opening Up Free Market Solutions
State, local, and federal regulations have made energy more expensive to generate and have jeopardized Ohio’s power grid. Ohio families and businesses need good energy policy to ensure a healthy supply of affordable, reliable energy. Policies must ensure that electricity is affordable and available when Ohioans need it. We must adopt policies at the federal, state, and local level to get powerplants and transmission lines online more quickly. Government regulators do not have the authority to impose de facto mandates—such as buying electric vehicles, using solar power, or keeping a gas stove—on Ohioans. Removing barriers to innovation will allow free market solutions to drive down the cost of energy, create small businesses, and put more money in the pockets of Ohioans.
Ohio can lead in innovation by removing barriers and preventing government overreach.
