Stop Medicaid Fraud

Congress must do more to crack down on fraud in government healthcare programs like Medicaid. Every year, taxpayers lose tens of billions of dollars to waste, fraud, and abuse in federal health care spending — money that should be helping vulnerable Americans, not enriching fraudsters and politically connected special interests.

 

The Working Families Tax Cut bill took important steps to strengthen oversight and improve accountability, but more must be done. States like California have exposed just how broken the current system has become, with billions flowing to questionable providers, fraudulent billing schemes, and non-health care spending that drives up costs for working families.

 

We urge Congress to build on the anti-fraud reforms in the Working Families Tax Cut bill by strengthening eligibility verification, increasing oversight of providers, improving transparency, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent on legitimate patient care — not waste, fraud, and abuse. Americans deserve affordable health care and accountable government!
